Carson was fifteen years old when he came to Preston with his family. He is the fourth child and the third son of Zephaniah Richmond and Martha Jane Draper Bradley. He met Eliza Ellen Leavitt who had moved from Southern Nevada to Lund and then to Preston. They were married 1 January 1907 by Bishop Hyrum S. Arnoldson. Their first home was in Z. D. Bradley's log house. They were sealed in the St. George Temple, 28 September 1910. They made the journey to St. George in a covered wagon, taking 10 days one way.
Carson worked for Tom Rosevear and Albert Williams on their ranches on White River and lived there several summers and winters. Eliza was a very efficient housekeeper and made many lovely quilts.
They were the parents of two boys and three girls who were all born in Preston. Marvin Carson was born 21 February 1908. He married Mary Ann Kutzman and they had two boys, Joe and Jim. Sherman Leavitt was born 25 May 1910. He married Lona Genevieve Cazier. Their children are Patsy, Ellen and Jack. Charity Louise was born 22 April 1913. She married Otto Farman and their children are Karen, Mark, Gail, Norma, Sheryl, Colleen and Vickie. Louise and Otto live in Emmett, Idaho. They are very active in the church. Martha Adelia was born 1 October 1917 and died 27 January 1918. Verda Eliza was born 25 January 1920 and died 24March 1963 at Reno, Nevada. Carson and Eliza have 12 grand children, 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Carson was born 22 July 1883 in Moroni, Utah. He died 23 January 1947. Eliza Leavitt wasborn in Gunlock, Utah, 23 August 1886 and died 11 February 1934. They both died in Preston and are buried there.
